Stop Deportation Of Mathe Karekezi Family

The immigrant vote will play an important role in the upcoming presidential elections. Frank Sharry sums up What Latino Voters Need to Hear on Immigration Reform From Obama

The dreamact network has a petition to Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, John Morton, and Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano on Mathe Karekezi family:
" The father left Rwanda after the genocide to settle in South Africa as a political refugee. The father and mother, Hope, married and the family began to build their life together. Soon after, the family began to receive several death threats and narrowly avoided the kidnapping of their daughter, who was 3 years old at the time, from daycare."

Help bij retweeting:

On the leading from the sandbox blog we read Hope Karekezi's full story:

"We also sought advice from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Pretoria SA seeking help but we were told there was a long waiting list of refugees in our position who needed to be resettled. My husband’s entire family fled Rwanda and is in hiding. My husband’s brother was killed in 2008 while fleeing for his life from the same Tutsi agents that are hunting our family. He was caught up with between Zambia and Congo"

Tomorrow at 18:00 there is a rally in Atlanta Georgia at St Paul's Presbyterian Church 30308 to support Andy Mathe and the rest of the Mathe Karekezi family.
