As Digitalcongo and radiookapi have reported, it has become very difficult for Congolese citizens living abroad to obtain their passports in Brussels.
At the Congolese embassy in Brussels, the 13th of january, the atmosphere was very agitated. Congolese living abroad are running out of patience. The minister Alexis Tambwe Mwamba sends just 100 passports this month, allthough 6000 people are still waiting for their passport. In the past the backlog amounted to about 3 months, but if Alexis Tambwe Mwamba continues at this pace, it will take 50 months before the last citizen gets his passport.
Tharcisse Loseke, professor at the protestant university of Belgium, says that this decision makes it very hard for Congolese citizen to move freely in Europe.
