The President of minority organisations in the Netherlands, former under minister Gabor (CDA) of Hungarian origin, has written a letter to all political parties. The minority organisations are worried that the Dutch political parties are affraid to put migrants on their lists.
Gabor in his letter insists that their is still a lot of work for political parties, because migrants are underrepresented in Dutch parties.
On the website of the minority organisations the reason for this is explained. Information has reached the national council of minorities that migrants who want to become candidate face resistance from political parties because the parties consider minority candidates a risk. Gabor insists in his letter to the political parties, that these fears find no ground in actual fact.
So far to my knowledge no Dutch newspaper or television program has reported on this issue.
