Bill Maher interviews Jeremy Scahill on the U.S. War in Afghanistan

It should also be clear that, no matter what other psychological, political, or institutional pressure now upon him, President and Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama has the Constitutional and military executive authority to end the U.S. Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan at any time. As Commander-in-Chief, he is first in command of the entire U.S. Armed Forces and could order them all home as soon as ships and planes could carry them. Any U.S. military personnel who disobeyed would be subject to court martial, according to military law. The only possible defense would be that Commander-in-Chief Obama had ordered them to commit a war crime.
