A book on microfinancing and remittances. Interesting subject. Going to read on it some more. Especially in these difficult times on the stock markets. And governments pumping money into banks. The only thing migrants want is a better way to make their money work from abroad. They don't want to participate in large abstract projects, they just want to get the money to their family abroad. What is disappointing in most reports on remittances is the lack of understanding of the reason why people send money home. It sometimes looks as if migrants aren't taken seriously in all these remittances studies you can find online.
